A grounded, evidence-informed approach to teaching yoga.
A clear, steady and human yoga training rooted in traditional Hatha Yoga and informed by modern movement science, psychology and lived practice. Designed for people who want depth, clarity and confidence, not a fast-track certification.
A Different Kind of Yoga Training
The YogaLife / LUMEN collaboration 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training offers a structured, progressive education designed to help yoga land in your body, your mind and your life.
It uses Hatha Yoga as the foundation and Vinyasa as a tool, not a style to imitate. This is for people who don’t want more noise. It’s for those who value yoga deeply and want to understand it, practise it and eventually teach it with clarity, integrity and presence.
All training will be held in YogaLife’s state-of-the-art biohacking studio in Handforth, Wilmslow. This gives students the advantage of learning inside a successful yoga business, with opportunities to gain real-time teaching experience with YogaLife members and support from highly experienced YogaLife teachers.
What Makes YogaLife / LUMEN Different?
Foundation-Led
Built on principles that last, rather than trend-led teaching styles that constantly change.
Science-Informed
Anatomy, biomechanics, psychology and nervous system education are woven into the training without losing the soul of yoga.
Mentorship-Led
Support continues well beyond certification, with ongoing guidance, reflection and teacher development.
How the Training Works
The course follows a blended learning format, combining guided online study with in-person training weekends. This means you arrive prepared, grounded and ready to practise, rather than overwhelmed with information.
Saturdays focus on practice, movement exploration, the science of yoga and practical philosophy. Sundays are dedicated to teaching practice, sequencing, cueing, voice development and feedback.
- Guided online modules before each in-person weekend
- Core Hatha Yoga practices and movement principles
- Pranayama, meditation and philosophy study
- Weekend-based experiential and relational learning
- Steady progression through study, practice, reflection and teaching
Once Graduated, What You Will Be Able To Do
- Teach clear, safe and intelligent Hatha Vinyasa classes
- Sequence with purpose and coherence
- Cue in a way people understand and respond to
- Adapt classes for different bodies, abilities and needs
- Work skilfully with breath and nervous system regulation
- Apply yogic philosophy to modern life
- Continue developing as a teacher with confidence and curiosity
Who This Training Is For
This course is suited to dedicated yoga students, aspiring teachers, existing teachers who want to rebuild with clarity, and people who may never teach but want yoga to support life more fully.
You do not need to be flexible, spiritual or advanced in postures. You do need curiosity, consistency and a willingness to learn.
Assessment & Certification
Assessment is practical, supportive and integrated throughout the training. It includes teaching practice, observation, self-reflection, class planning, sequencing, attendance and participation.
There are no surprise exams or pressure-based assessments. On successful completion, students receive a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate and are eligible to register as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance.
Past Student Success
Graduates have gone on to teach in studios and leisure clubs across Cheshire, open successful yoga studios, and lead workshops, events and retreats within 12 months of qualifying.
That outcome is supported by ongoing post-training mentorship, additional training and continued access to Stuart and the YogaLife team.
